Doch dann groovt Jake mit “Good” feat. Tertia May mitten rein in unser Herz.

So Ende gut, alles gut mäßig. Leicht schnulzig, klar.

The songs on your new album „Honesty“ are peppered with soulful moments. What do you think is the most important feeling that you want to convey with your new songs?

Jake Isaac: Id really like to convey the feeling of openess and sincereity, being able to be honest about aspects of the listeners own journey.

You once said that traveling, among other things, is a great inspiration for you as an artist. We have not been allowed to travel for almost a year now. How much does it take you and to what extent did you try to process all of this in „Honesty“?

Jake Isaac: This has been super hard for me and i really miss being in the same room as people and sharing music with them. I feel like this album has been kinda theraputic for me and im really grateful to be able to be creative during such a crazy time.

Your phenomenal rise to one of the hottest soul newcomers also came about through your great live performance. What new aspects did you discover in yourself during the time you wrote the second album and then finally released it?

Jake Isaac: Firstly…wow, thankyou. i think ive discovered that its even more enjoyable when you are creativley completely yourself and not holding anything back. That might be stylistically, culturally or lyrically.

You didn’t put a lot of pressure on yourself from the start of your career. Either it works with the breakthrough or it doesn’t. With an attitude like that, isn’t it hard to lose focus on all of that, the music?

Jake Isaac: Ha! nah, not really. It helps being able to take one day at a time, being able to embrace the failures AND the wins!
