Burning Velvet aus Svendborg ist Teil der Soundkartell Night
Burning Velvet spielt am 15. September bei der Soundkartell Night im Substanz. Ich habe ihm vorab noch ein paar Fragen gestellt.
Am 15. September ist es soweit. Die Soundkartell Night steht uns ins Haus und Euch erwarten folgende Acts: Lampe // Take Off Your Shirts // Jay Cooper und der Däne Burning Velvet. Take Off Your Shirts hatte ich Euch im Vorfeld schon im Interview vorstellt. Heute also der Däne Burning Velvet. Ich habe ihm ein paar Fragen gestellt.
Soundkartell: Burning Velvet will come to Munich for the first time. So what “gift” will you bring with you the long way from Svendborg to Munich?
Burning Velvet: Yes it is my first time to play in Münich and Germany. I will bring along a bunch of fresh songs from my first full lenght album, actually it is a double album, titled “Night Light – Slow Grass”. It will be released worldwide 30th of September, but especially for Soundkartell Night I will bring download codes, so it will be possible to buy the album before the actual release only on Soundkartell Night. Also I will bring my vinyl single released march 26 with handprinted covers that I have done myself and limited to 100pcs worldwide.
And on the other side: What do you wish you can receive from the Soundkartell Night?
It sounds as such a great night and a great project that you put on. So I am really looking forward to having a good time in Munich, to play, see the venue and hear the other bands. I am also working on getting more gigs in Germany and my Danish record label (Celebration Recs) has a good working relationship with a German distributer. So, I hope this will be the first gig of more to come in Germany.
So you got a little support from Denmark. How important is it for you as a danish act to put in a foot toGermany?
I think it is very important for me. Denmark is a very small country so it is hard to sell enough records, and get enough gigs. And the German scene is so much bigger, so I guess there is bigger chance that people will buy the records?

On YouTube you have not that many songs online that we can listen to. So please explain what we can expect from your Live-Show at Soundkartell Night?
I signed with my label in January 2016, so until now I have release one digital single and a two track vinyl. But as mentioned above, I will release a double album September 30th and I will songs from this album. I will be coming solo to Soundkartell Night, so you can expect me to sing my new songs and play along on either banjo, an old archtop acoustic or the electric guitar.
Your music sounds very introvert. How do you act and what do you want to communicate with the audience?
Well, I try to really dig in the music when I write it and when I play it… I try to deliver as much heartfeltness as I can through the songs and be true to the feeling or story in the song.
