Wir haben der italienischen Dream-Pop-Band Be Forest einige Fragen zu ihrem Sound und zum RBF 2019 gestellt.
Be Forest (Erica Terenzi, Costanza Delle Rose und Nicola Lampredi) kommen aus Pesaro, einer kleinen Stadt an der Adria. Sie schaffen in ihren Songs einen wundersamen Übergang von Post-Punk zum Shoegaze. Wie das klingt erfahrt ihr weiter unten. Davor lernt ihr sie noch im Interview kennen.
Could you please shortly introduce yourself, who is Be Forest?
Be Forest: Be Forest is formed by Nicola, Erica and Costanza: three completely unique worlds who had the luck of meeting and creating music together.
What role does the night play, the darkness in your new album “Knocturne”?
Be Forest: The night has a central role; everyone should surrender to it because it’s part of each and everyone’s soul. It’s that darkness that more often than not we pretend not to see.
Why should we shed the fear of the dark and the night, or should we save it?
Be Forest: Because darkness is necessary as much as light, we just need to accept it and learn to discover it.
The press release for the album states that your album is a reaction to tyranny, sadness and the confusion of today. Why are you making it so hard for the listener?
Be Forest: It’s impossible not to be touched by what’s going on in our planet today, the speed to which everything changes, the will to change thing and feeling powerless…Knocturne is how we were able to shape our feelings.
You are part of the Reeperbahn Festival this year and so you are also representive for your country Italy. What are your expectations to your show?
Be Forest: We never have expectations but we are pretty sure it’s going to be a great experience!
And what impression of Italy do you want to convey to the audience?
Be Forest: We are the same on and off the stage, we are not trying to convey any impression, but we’ll definitely try to reach as many people as possible.
