Wolfang Baustian hat ganz exklusiv in den neuen Track „Two“ von Connah Evans reingehört und es folgt ein exklusives Interview mit dem Songwriter.

Holla, was kommt da denn für ein luftiger Track um´s Eck gebogen? Der Brite Connah Evans beschert dem Soundkartell ganz exklusiv seinen neuesten Song „Two“, der zwar recht frohgemut und mit viel happiness vorgetragen wird, aber beim genauen hinhören dennoch ernster ist, als man es vermuten würde.

Geht es doch in „Two“ um ein Paar, dass sich auseinander gelebt hat, die Liebe zum Anderen aus den Augen verloren hat und sich einen Neuanfang wünschen. Doch ist es gerade die Besonderheit von Connah Evans, seinen Songs einen eher lustiges Gewand zu verpassen, eingängige Sounds zu kreieren und die Tracks damit recht unbeschwert klingen zu lassen. Das ist ihm mit „Two“ auf jeden Fall auch wieder gelungen, wie auch mit seinen letzen Songs. Hat der Multi-Instrumentalist eine besondere Aufmerksamkeit seitens der BBC bekommen, hatte er bereits oft die Gelegenheit bei verschiedenen Festivals haufenweise neue Fans in seiner Heimat für sich zu gewinnen. Nun die spannende Frage, ob Connah Evans bei uns in Deutschland ähnlich viel Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt wird. Seine Musik hätte es auf jeden Fall verdient, tut doch seine mitreißende Art und Weise richtig Spass und beschert einen für die Dauer des Tracks eine unbeschwerte Zeit. Klasse Ding – bitte mehr davon!

Das Soundkartell hatte darüber hinaus noch die Möglichkeit, dem Indie-Pop-Musiker ein paar persönliche Fragen zu stellen:

Could you shortly introduce yourself in about three sentences?

Connah Evans: My name is Connah Evans and I am an upbeat singer songwriter from the UK. I write songs with upbeat addictive melodies and heart felt lyrics. I also have a tattoo of a something that looks much like a toaster on my hip

You will release your new track “TWO”. What is it about and is there a special message you want to convey the listeners?

Connah Evans: My new single „TWO“ tells the story of a once in love couple that have fallen apart, and wanting to return to when they were two. The message would be when you feel you have something special, don’t ever take it for granted.

“TWO” is very catchy and poppy. How risky is it that a deep message could get lost with a too happy and poppy mood?

Connah Evans: I don’t believe this is risky as I try and write all my songs with heartfelt lyrics, but always try and keep the music and melody as up beat as possible. I would never want anyone who is listing to my music feel to feel sad, I want people to dance and have fun.

In about two years 2016 until today you’ve received a lot of positive feedback to your work and you’ve played some amazing Festivals with the BBC, including Liverpool Sound City, Truck Festival and Festival No. 6. What are your thoughts about this development you take and will take this year?

Connah Evans: l have loved the last few years and the amazing opportunities I have had thanks to the BBC, they have by far been some of the most special moments of my musical career. Last year i took a semi break to work on writing and recording new music so i was ready to smash 2018, and well… HERE I AM!

What are your wishes for 2018?

Connah Evans: My wishes for 2018 are to spread my music to more people and to release music that people are going to love listening to.
