Anfang des Jahres sind wir auf die noch unbekannte Londoner Band The Hanging Stars gestoßen. Anfangs sind wir aus ihnen nicht wirklich schlau geworden. So haben wir vor allem außer ihrer Musik auf der Soundcloud-Seite nicht viel gefunden, das uns die Band etwas näher bringen hätte können.

Also haben wir uns dran gemacht und versucht den Londoner Jungs ein paar Fragen zu stellen. Wirklich viel konnten wir ihnen auch nicht entlocken, aber wir kommen ihrem Cosmic-Country doch einen weiteren Schritt näher.

The Hanging Stars: „We’re from London Town. It started in April 2014. We recorded the album in LA & London.“
You are making a mixture of Folk, Folk-Rock and psychedelic. Which element characterize your music the most?
The Hanging Stars: „Cosmic Psychedelic Country Folk Soul.“
How risky is it to compare your own sound with the sound of another band?
The Hanging Stars: „Unavoidable.“
Until now you are quiet very unknown. Where do you see yourself – as a band – in about 5 years?
The Hanging Stars: „Making records & Playing shows.“
London is a city where just a lot of newcomer bands are based. How difficult is it to be an outstanding newcomer band in this huge scene?
The Hanging Stars: „It’s true it’s a big place. But we just do our thing and don’t pay too much attention to anything else.“
If you have to write a song to describe the city London to us, which mood should this sound transport to us?
The Hanging Stars: „I’ve got the Noisy, Misty, Dirty, Wistful Waterloo Blues.“
